Light a Candle
Brian G. Preez was born January 19, 1958 in Madison, Wisconsin and passed away June 14, 2020 in New Haven Township. Brian grew up and lived on a farm outside of Briggsville and attended Wisconsin Dells High School prior to entering the United States Marine Corps in July 1976. He was honorably discharged in August 1980. Brian worked as a skilled carpenter on many local homes. He was truly a good natured man with a kind soul. He'll be remember for his quick wit that brought joy and laughter to so many people.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Preez; his mother, Ruth (Jacobsen) Reid; his stepfather, Myron (Bud) Reid; his brother, Douglas Preez; and his stepbrother, Jeffery Reid. Brian is survived by his sisters Linda (Gregory) Jenkins of Florida, Susan (Hank) Sommers of Madison, WI, Patricia (Bradley) Hocker of Briggsville, WI; his brothers Ronald Preez of Texas, Bradley Reid of Oxford, WI, as well as his stepbrother, Michael Reid of Adams, WI and stepsister Cheryle Reid of West Salem, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the community of Briggsville, who cared for Brian and gave him many rides over the years as he walked along area roads. A special thank you to the Kilbourn Fire Department and Rescue, Briggsville Fire Department and Med Flight. An outdoor celebration of life will be held at a later date.
